We’re seeking a skilled Network Administrator to join our team and ensure seamless network performance and uptime.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Network Administrator to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot our networking infrastructure. The primary focus will be on maintaining networking optimization, ensuring high availability, and minimizing downtime in our Cisco-based environment. This position focuses on proactive network management, infrastructure scalability, operational efficiency, and bolstering of the network security posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and deploy Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, WLAN controllers and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance using tools and protocols (SNMP, Syslog, WMI, ICMP, etc.).
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as IOS upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle hardware replacements.
  • Scoping, implementation and management of subnets, VLANs, QoS, VPN, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Troubleshoot network issues including, but not limited to connectivity problems, latency, voice quality issues and packet loss, using diagnostic tools e.g. Wireshark, tcpdump, Cisco EPC and CLI commands.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to design new cybersecurity strategies, maintain network diagrams, integrate new technologies, and overall infrastructure support
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and remote access solutions (Palo Alto Global Protect).
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance fine tuning to anticipate growth and maintain infrastructure resilience.
  • Management of virtualization technologies and storage infrastructure to ensure data integrity, and uptime.
  • Perform maintenance on backup infrastructure and technologies, and support best practices for Disaster Recovery Planning.
  • Design, implement, troubleshoot and maintain cybersecurity tools (SIEM, spam filters, endpoint security, web filtering, firewalls).
  • Administer Linux server environment to ensure patch and upgrade management, as well as compatibility requirements.
  • Participate in after-hours contact to address network incidents and restore services quickly.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration, with a strong emphasis on Cisco environments.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP (Routing and Switching preferred).
  • Proficiency in Cisco IOS/XE, switching technologies (e.g., Spanning Tree, Port/EtherChannel), and routing protocols.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, Wireshark, or any other tool) and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to resolve outages swiftly.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls for interface and VPN configurations.
  • Experience with wireless networking (Cisco WLAN Controller) and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Ability to manage multi-site networks and ensure consistent uptime across locations.
  • Knowledge of VoIP and communications systems (e.g., FreePBX, Asterix) to maintain voice and video networking.
  • Experience in cable management.
  • Experience in using Linux command-line utilities (e.g., tcpdump, iproute2, netstat) for network diagnostics and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

Wage scale C41- $57,371.97 to $80,320.93
