ELYRIA, OH – Skill City Promise is a dynamic, first-of-its-kind partnership between the city of Elyria and Lorain County Community College (LCCC) focused on providing a free education to Elyria residents through short-term certificate programs in business, health care, information technology, computer science and/or development, and manufacturing that include a direct path to a new, in-demand career.

It’s a great time to upskill and increase your earning potential — for free. Find out exactly how to do that at the Skill City Promise in-person and virtual Info Session held at Lorain County Community College Reaser Grand Room on Wednesday, May 19 at 6:00 p.m. and Monday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m.

Pre-registration is required for the session at www.lorainccc.edu/skillcity.

At the Info Session, you’ll learn how to earn FREE short-term certificate programs in in-demand fields like business, health care, manufacturing and computer science/IT. The session will address the approximately three dozen skills/certificates that can be earned, how to register, the benefits of upskilling and any questions you may have about scheduling. Advisors will be present to assist participants with the application process and next steps.

To take part in Skill City Promise, you must be a resident of Elyria and you must have earned a high school diploma or GED. Elyria residents without a diploma who are interested in Skill City Promise must enroll in LCCC’s free Aspire/GED program or 22+ Adult Diploma program first.
