ELYRIA, OH – Due to Republic Services temporarily closing the Lorain County Landfill in response to the U.S. National Weather Service’s Winter Storm Warning for north central and northeast Ohio, effective 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 30 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1 in which 6-15 inches are projected, the City of Elyria will delay trash, recycling, and/or bulk pickup collection service by one (1) day.

Collection services will resume on Wednesday, December 2 under the following updated schedule:

  • Wednesday, December 2, 2020: Collection of regularly scheduled Tuesday routes

  • Thursday, December 3, 2020: Collection of regularly scheduled Wednesday routes

  • Friday, December 4, 2020: Collection of regularly scheduled Thursday routes

  • Saturday, December 5, 2020: Collection of regularly scheduled Friday routes

Normal rules and guidelines for trash, recycling, and/or bulk pickup are still in place and must be followed as normal. In the event inclement weather continues, and safe collection is not possible, the schedule will adjust by one (1) day, excluding Sundays and/or holidays.
