Elyria, OH – The City of Elyria invites residents and families to a free, family-friendly Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, October 18, at Lorain County Community College. The event will take place rain or shine from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Touch-A-Truck gives children and adults the opportunity to climb aboard, explore, and discover a wide variety of impressive trucks and vehicles. Attendees can meet the professionals who operate them, learn how they work, and enjoy an engaging, hands-on experience designed for all ages.
Highlights of the event include:
- Sensory-Friendly Hour from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (no lights, sirens, horns, or music)
- Metro Life Flight helicopter scheduled to arrive at 11:30 a.m. (weather permitting)
- Music from DJ Jonathan Whitfield Sr., 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Food vendors including Gullett Hotdogs, Jones Bones BBQ, CLE Chicken, Bone Appetit Creamery, and the Elyria High School “Pink Cookie Trailer”
- Balloon creations by Danimal the Balloon Artist
- Elyria Parks & Recreation Robot Naming Contest
- Free Child ID cards provided by the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, explore, and learn in a fun and safe environment,” said Mayor Kevin Brubaker. “We are grateful to LCCC and our many community partners for helping us bring this experience to Elyria.”
The Touch-A-Truck event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
