Today, September 23, West Avenue will be closed between 18th Street and Oberlin Road while Columbia Gas works
to relocate a gas main.
Once the gas main work is completed, West Avenue will remain closed between 18th Street and Oberlin Road while crews reshape the intersection of West Avenue and Oberlin Road. During
this work, the traffic signal at West Avenue and Oberlin Road will be placed in a red-flash condition, requiring all vehicles to stop before proceeding through the intersection.
Traffic requiring access to Oberlin Road will need to use Middle Avenue as an entrance point.
The closure is anticipated to be in place for 30 days. Once the intersection work is completed, road resurfacing will begin on Oberlin Road between West Avenue and the railroad crossing.
