Visitors to Elyria’s pools will notice a new check-in process this summer. The Parks and Recreation Department has introduced a free 2026 Pool Badge designed to speed up entry during open swim sessions and make the check-in process more efficient.
The badge will be required for everyone attending open swim sessions, including children, adults, residents and non-residents. The badge is free, but it is not a season pass and regular daily admission fees will still apply.
To receive a badge, swimmers should register through the City’s Rec Desk system. Families are encouraged to make sure their household information is current and to register each family member who plans to attend open swims. Pool staff will take photos during pool visits to complete the badge process.
Residents who already have a Rec Desk account can log in and enroll in the 2026 Pool Badge program. Those who do not have an account can create one online and add members of their household before registering.
Parks and Recreation officials encourage families to complete the registration process before their first trip to the pool to help ensure a smooth check-in experience throughout the summer.
Additional information, step-by-step registration instructions and links to create a Rec Desk account can be found on the City of Elyria Parks and Recreation webpage: https://www.cityofelyria.org/department/parks-and-recreation /
