The Elyria Police Department now offers training classes for to both law enforcement and the public. Courses will be limited to 25 participants and will be on a first come first served basis. Check back here often for a list of available courses.
Teen Driver Safety Class
Register now for the Elyria Police Department Teen Driver Safety Class, happening Saturday, May 31, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM in the Elyria Police Department Community Room. This free class is open to Elyria residents ages 15–19, as well as students attending Elyria School District charter or private schools. Designed to educate new and future drivers, the course covers basic traffic laws, how to interact with law enforcement, vehicle maintenance essentials, what to do in the event of an accident, and the dangers of distracted driving. Please note: this is not a driving school, and no driving will take place during the session. It is an informational class to help prepare teens for safe, responsible driving. Spots are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Participants under 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian. Use the form below to sign up today!
