At the end of 2010, the City of Elyria embarked on an adventure of efficiency and environmental responsibility by switching over to the new waste and recycling program that we use today.  We understand that between the introduction of different colored cans (black for garbage, green for recycling!), grass that needs to be taken to the Regional Compost Facility at 45 Chestnut Street, brush that gets picked up by the wood-chipper trucks, and other changes, there can be some confusion about what goes where! Thanks to a grant from Lorain County Solid Waste Management, we’re launching our Sort4Elyria campaign to try to make everything as clear as possible. The videos below (starring some local, volunteer talent!) should help makes things clearer. If not, please don’t hesitate to call the City of Elyria Sanitation Department at 440-322-3895 with any questions. And stay tuned, there is more info to come in the very near future!
