On Monday, July 31, 2023, the reconstruction of E Broad Street will begin. Phase 1 of the project will occur from E Bridge Street to Prospect Street. Work will include new storm sewer, curb, drive aprons, asphalt resurfacing, a multi-use path, sidewalk, and curb ramps. During Phase 1, Eastbound traffic on E Broad Street will be detoured to East River Street to Clark Street to Winckles Street to Taylor Street to SR 57. Westbound traffic on E Broad Street will be maintained.
The project also includes traffic signal improvements along E Broad Street at East River Street, Park Place, Park Avenue, and Prospect Street. The existing traffic signal will be removed at S. Logan Street and signage improvements will be made throughout the E Broad Street project corridor.
Phase 2 of the project will begin in 2024 and occur from Prospect Street to Abbe Road. Work will include new storm sewer, watermain, curb, drive aprons, asphalt resurfacing and road widening, a multi-use path, sidewalk, and curb ramps. We will keep you apprised, as the project progresses.
All work is scheduled to be completed by November 2024.
