Traffic Advisory: Lake Avenue, Furnace Street

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve your infrastructure, the following traffic advisories are in effect as of Wednesday, October 29, 2014 to begin work on the Furnace Street Water Main Replacement Project.  The following streets will be affected:

  • Lake Avenue between Kaiser and Neufer: Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction. This restriction will continue throughout the watermain installation process.
  • Furnace Street will be closed in the near future.  More information will be provided prior to the closing.

Traffic Advisory: Road Closure – Whitman Boulevard

Today, September 25, 2014, Whiteman Boulevard at Canterbury Road  will be closed to through traffic for pavement repairs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm today.   The repair is at 279 Whitman Boulelvard. (intersection of Whitman and Whitman). Traffic will be able to use Canterbury Road to go around the closure.

Traffic Advisory: Week of September 22, 2014

Road closure: Week of September 22, 2014

Traffic restrictions will take place on the following streets: East River at Eastern Heights Boulevard, Princeton Avenue and Cornell Avenue. Flaggers will be directing traffic with one lane remaining open. Expect delays, especially at 4th street. Work will begin at 7:00 am and extend through the workday until 6:00 pm each day.

 

 

Traffic Advisory: West Bridge Street Closed

West Bridge Street will be closed between Water Street and West River Road at the Black River for repairs.  Work will begin at 2pm on Tuesday, July 29th and will continue to several days.  No vehicles will be permitted to cross the bridge over the river.  Traffic will be diverted to alternative routes.

Traffic Restrictions – Corner of Poplar/Longford

As part of our ongoing efforts to imporove your infrastructure, the intersection of Poplar and Longford will have traffic restrictions and traffic will be maintained with a flagger for the entire week of June 30 through July 4, 2014. Harwood Street, between Cleveland and Caroline, will Will also have restrictions but will remain open to traffic throughout the week as well.

Traffic Restrictions for Apple Festival – September 18-21, 2014

APPLE FESTIVAL RESTRICTIONS: September 18-September 21

On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 10:00 am, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic in preparation for the 2014 Apple Festival:

  • Court Street (Bank Traffic Only) between Broad St and 3rd Street
  • Middle Ave between Broad and 3rd Street
  • 2nd Street between Middle Ave., and Court Street.

Two-way traffic will be allowed on 2nd Street between East Ave and Talmer Bank and Trust’s Drive and West Ave., to Elyria City Hall’s Parking Lot.

Parking will be prohibited on:

  • Court St between Broad St and 3rd Street
  • Middle Ave between Broad St and 3rd Street
  • 2nd Street between Court and West Avenue
  • 2nd St between Middle Ave and East Avenue

On Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 5:30 am, Broad Street will be closed between, West Ave and East Ave and between East Ave and Cedar Street for the Apple Festival Car Show. Broad Street traffic will detour south and north on East Ave., and south and north on West Ave. Broad Street will reopen after 4:00 pm.

Normal traffic patterns will return on Sunday, September 21, 2014 after 11 pm.

APPLE FESTIVAL 5K RUN: SEPTEMBER 21, 2014

On Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 8:15 am, the following streets will be closed in preparation for the 2014 Apple Festival 5K Run:

  • Washington Avenue from Ohio Street to Elywood Drive
  • Glenwood Avenue from Ohio Street to Washington Avenue
  • Hamilton Avenue may be closed if the alternate route is used.

Streets will reopen when the 5K Run is completed.
